This initiative by the Maths Department is entering its second year and will run each week for the duration of the school year. The core idea of the Maths Support Centre is to provide friendly additional support to all students of all abilities.
This drop in centre is a place for students to come and ask any questions on any Mathematics material they have covered in class or as part of their own independent work.
The Maths Support Centre will run every Thursday in room 33 from 1:20 – 1:45pm for all students of all abilities.
Please note:The Maths Support Centre will only provide help in cases where the student has already thought about the material they are working on. Teachers will provide structures and examples to build on the student’s prior knowledge to help the student to progress. Teachers will not give a full solution of a homework problem as this would not be beneficial to the student. The main goal is to help each student to move past the point at which they are experiencing difficultly. Regular attendance at the Maths Support Centre will help improve students' experience of Mathematics at 2nd Level.
Students who attend the MSC will also have access to a Microsoft Team class space where additional resources, links and video examples will be posted. TEAM CODE: o88pv50
The MSC is a free service provided by our Maths teachers for the students of St. Mary’s Edenderry.
